Often especially first-time founders are subject matter experts in their field but often lack the experience of how to set up a startup company, build the team and structures required, establish problem-solution, and prove product-market-fit to investors. As your team grows, change and conflicts within the team might cause you sleepless nights. We provide them with business experience, network, and advice on how to be a successful founding team, building that next unicorn. In the past, we have worked with start-ups like scoutbee, pyoneer, or userlane as well as for corporate-startup teams.
Often change is the main driver that wants to be managed well. As companies grow or face disruptive challenges and need to go for new markets often what worked in the past will not work for the future. This will include structures but also the mindset and team skills, that need to change. We help executives to lead the way. Very often we stay in a confidential relationship and are trusted advisors or coaches on how to set the sails for the new horizon. By implementing new structures and processes as well as agile mindsets throughout the organizations. In the past, we have worked with companies like Kimberley Clark Professional, Audi, Finow Automotive, Heidelberg Cement, or the Voith Group.
Many of the "Head of..." roles are given to the best forming contributors requiring a major change in the role and the way you have to work taking over the responsibility of the team. Making that shift from being the best salesperson or the most experienced service rep to managing a team and being responsible for the work others need to do isn't always easy. Leaving that comfort zone often requires new skills, mindset, and a good coach at your side. We helped Heads of Sales, Service, and Product to build their team, become as successful in their new leadership role as they were as individual contributors and become the future VPs and Directors as the companies grew or as they advanced their careers with a new employer.
Organizations and teams are built from individuals. The better individuals are engaged, trained, and empowered, the more valuable their contribution will be for the bigger picture. Sitting alongside sales reps during customer visits or building call scripts with support reps. Often our multi-year experience helps to onboard new employees faster and facilitate change on an operational level, making that real impact on customers. Communication trainings for groups or coaching for individuals helps your team members to become more confident, productive, and successful.
Often a good team is much more successful as the individuals might have been all by themselves. Unfortunately, teams also cause conflict and disagreement and need to evolve and change over time. From setting up a new team to developing an existing team as well as integrating new members or saying farewell to exiting team members. These dynamics within the teams should get the same level of attention as soft- and hard skills for individuals. Also, changes in roles and leadership often need some support and external moderation. In the past, we managed to build and align great founder and executive teams, develop team skills for early-stage employees and establish and support temporary project-based teams that need to get productive fast and resolve as the mission is accomplished.
